The Winemakers

Kian Tavakoli

Our Winemaker was most recently the winemaker at Clos Du Val where he ran their Red Wine program – including their highly–acclaimed reserve bottling. Before joining Clos Du Val, Kian spent four years learning red wine winemaking at Opus One. With over 10 years of winemaking, operations and viticulture experience, Kian brings a stellar combination of sensory and production skills to Patel Winery. In addition to his winemaking expertise, Kian has considerable knowledge of vineyard management.

Camille Benitah

Camille, our consulting winemaker, is now the winemaker at Merus. She was born and raised in Bordeaux, and in addition to her experience in Bordeaux, Camille was assistant winemaker at Merus (2004–2008) and in August, 2008 was named winemaker. Camille has assisted Mark Herold on several cult wine brands including Buccella and Kobalt.
