Opaque ruby color. Lifted aromas of black cherry, cedar, and crushed cocoa nibs. Energetic with impressive lift on entry, waves of juicy ripe fruits flood the palate, revealing black plum, cherry, and raspberry. All this is framed by a plethora of soft, silken, plump tannins supported by a firm backbone of mouthwatering acidity. The finish lasts for minutes on end, revealing layers of minerality, savory crushed herbs, and elegant dried red florals.
Patel's 2019 Red Wine is bright, punchy and full of character. Vibrant red-toned fruit, spice, pomegranate and mocha are front and center. This Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon-based blend offers tons of appeal. Silky contours and soft, supple fruit make the 2019 a pleasure to taste.

Wine Profile
Production Notes
Arriving in small, hand-picked lugs from the vineyards, the clusters were hand sorted, de-stemmed and hand sorted again, berry by berry. A two-day cold soak was followed by primary fermentation in small, open-top stainless-steel tanks. Following an extended maceration, the fruit was gently pressed and the wine moved to barrel for secondary fermentation. The wine aged for 22 months in rare 60% new French artisan oak barrels with minimal racking. Multiple blending trials determined the final blend, which we bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Winemaker Notes
Our 2019 Red Wine, composed predominantly of Merlot from Atlas Peak, is consistent with previous years bottlings. Merlot brings forward elegant texture and red fruit characteristics including Bing cherry, and red plum. Cabernet Sauvignon reinforces the tannin structure. The blend between the Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon creates balanced concentration and drinkability.
